The Cultural Revolution 1966-76 * Mao wanted a pure form of communism * Mao realized in order to accomplish his goal he has to start with the young generation, so he created a special group call the red guards * The Red Guards went around the country and spread the idea of Mao and communism. * The Red Guards later became violent with the people who wanted capitalism, specialists and whoever disobeyed the Little Red Book. * The Red Guards were later put down by the Chinese Army.
Summary: The cultural revolution started with the good intentions of getting the youth involve in this country, but due to Chinese policy their action became not justified and was later put down by the government.
