Margaret Thatcher is the longest serving British Prime Minister of the Century.

- First woman to be elected as a European head of State
- The conservative party took office in 1979 and stayed until 1990
- Began the "Thatcher Revolution"
- Government stayed out of economics and reduced public expenditures
- Individuals were also given greater freedoms
- One thing that made her extremely popular was how she harshly dealt with the Argentinians in the Falkland Islands war
- She also promoted independence for Mozambique
