Czechoslovakia is a major point of change in the USSR, it was the first uprising.
- Had a democratic tradition
- Alexander Dubcek became secretary in 1968
- They lived through "socialism with a face": freedom of press, assembly of worship and the right to strike
- The move was threatening and was thought to possibly move to neighboring Romania
- Troops from several Satellite States moved in
- Dubcek was arrested and replaced by Husak
